Sundance Golf Club

Sundance Golf Club in Maple Grove, Minnesota, opened in 1999 and was designed by Joel Goldstrand, a Minnesota-based architect known for creating playable public courses throughout the Upper Midwest. The routing takes advantage of natural elevation changes and incorporates wetlands and ponds that come into play on roughly half the holes. Fairways are generally generous from the tee, but approach shots require precision as many greens are protected by bunkers and water hazards. The greens themselves feature moderate undulation, rewarding golfers who position their tee shots in optimal angles. Several holes along the back nine play through more heavily wooded corridors, creating a contrast with the more open character of the front side. Sundance operates as a daily-fee facility and serves both local residents and visitors to the northwest metro area. The course is maintained to standards typical of Minnesota public golf, with bent grass greens and bluegrass fairways.
