SPANISH HILLS GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB
🇺🇸 Camarillo, CA, USA
Designed by Bob Cupp

Nestled in the rolling hills of Camarillo, Spanish Hills Golf & Country Club presents a challenging and visually arresting golfing experience, defined as much by its demanding layout as its vibrant social fabric. The club’s inherent ethos is rooted in a community of passionate golfers.
Designed in the late 1990s, the course unfolds across a landscape characterized by undulating terrain and strategic water features. While generous fairways offer a degree of forgiveness off the tee, errant shots are swiftly punished by the ever-present bunkering and dense rough. The course requires golfers to possess a repertoire of shot making capabilities. Faders are at a distinct advantage at Spanish Hills.
The layout, crafted by Pete Dye’s protegees, allows for a more relaxed and engaging atmosphere than other area clubs. The membership values camaraderie and a slower pace of play. The lack of major championships hosted at Spanish Hills allows for the membership to enjoy the course without undue interruption.
Beyond the course, Spanish Hills is known for its strong member events and dining options, particularly its acclaimed paella nights, which draw a crowd from across Ventura County. It stands as a testament to the power of combining challenging golf with a welcoming and inclusive community.
