Scholl Canyon Golf & Tennis Club occupies a hillside site in the Verdugo Mountains above Glendale, California. The course was designed by William P. Bell and opened in 1960 as a municipal facility operated by the City of Glendale. Bell, a prolific Southern California architect whose work includes Torrey Pines South and numerous public courses throughout the region, routed the layout across sloping terrain that provides elevation changes and views over the San Fernando Valley and surrounding foothills. The course plays as a par-72 layout measuring approximately 6,000 to 6,400 yards from the back tees, depending on tee configuration. Mature trees line many fairways, and the greens feature modest undulation typical of Bell's municipal designs from this era.
