The Club at Savannah Harbor occupies a distinctive setting on Hutchinson Island in the Savannah River, directly across from Savannah's historic downtown district. Designed by Bob Cupp with input from Sam Snead and opened in 1999, the course was developed as part of a resort and residential community that includes the Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort & Spa. The layout makes extensive use of the island's riverfront location and relatively flat coastal terrain, with marshlands and tidal waterways factoring into the design.
The routing incorporates water hazards on a majority of holes, with several playing alongside or across wetland areas characteristic of Georgia's coastal lowcountry. Cupp's design emphasizes strategic shot placement over length, though the course stretches beyond 7,000 yards from the championship tees. The finishing stretch includes holes that run near the river, providing views of Savannah's skyline and maritime traffic. Bermuda grass covers fairways and greens, typical for the region's climate.
The course has hosted professional tournament golf, most notably serving as the venue for the Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf on the PGA Tour Champions from 2003 through 2010. This event brought notable senior tour players to the layout annually during that period. The club operates primarily as a resort facility, with access available to hotel guests and members, and maintains a year-round playing season given the area's mild winters.

Classy experience playing here
I definitely played it when it was near its worst, the layout was fun but the course conditioning was some of the worst I have ever seen hence the rating. I need to go back and play it but my only experience wasn’t great
Played it in extreme wind and it was a little dry, so it played pretty tough from the tips. Cool course though. I caught in on a day with no one there and had no problem playing at whatever pace we wanted. Tossed a gator my golf ball and he jumped out of the water to eat it, so that was cool. I’d say check it out if in Savannah and have to play public.
