Saint Boniface Golf Club
About this course
Saint Boniface Golf Club occupies a mature parkland setting in southeast Winnipeg, along the banks of the Seine River. The course was established in 1912, making it one of Manitoba's oldest golf clubs. The original layout was designed by Willie Park Jr., the Scottish architect and two-time Open Champion who designed courses across North America in the early twentieth century. The routing has been modified over the decades to accommodate urban development and modern playing standards, but the property retains its traditional character with tree-lined fairways and modest elevation changes typical of Red River Valley terrain. The course plays through a mix of open and wooded areas, with the Seine River coming into play on several holes. Mature elm, oak, and ash trees frame many fairways and define strategic angles off the tee. The relatively flat landscape is punctuated by subtle rolls and the occasional creek crossing, requiring accurate approach play to small, well-protected greens. Several holes run parallel to the river, and water hazards factor into routing decisions on both nines. Saint Boniface serves a predominantly French-Canadian community in Winnipeg's historic Saint Boniface neighborhood. The club maintains a welcoming, family-oriented atmosphere and has long been a fixture in local amateur golf. The course hosts regional tournaments and serves as a venue for junior development programs. Its central location and walkable layout make it accessible to members throughout the season, which runs from late April through October in Manitoba's continental climate.
