Royal Blue Golf Course at Baha Mar occupies oceanfront property on the northern coast of New Providence Island in Nassau. Jack Nicklaus designed the course, which opened in 2000 as part of a resort development that later became integrated into the Baha Mar resort complex. The layout takes advantage of the natural Bahamian landscape, incorporating native vegetation, limestone outcroppings, and elevation changes uncommon for the region. The routing moves through terrain that alternates between coastal holes with views of the Atlantic Ocean and inland passages framed by tropical flora. The course measures over 7,000 yards from the championship tees and features the strategic design elements characteristic of Nicklaus's work: generous landing areas balanced by demanding approach shots, substantial bunkering, and greens with significant contouring. Several holes play along or toward the ocean, where prevailing trade winds influence club selection and shot strategy. The limestone base provides firm playing conditions, and the design incorporates natural waste areas and native grasses that reflect the island environment. As a resort course within the Baha Mar property, Royal Blue serves both resort guests and members, offering a championship-caliber layout in a destination known more for beaches than golf.
