Quincy Course
Quincy, MA, USA

Hewn from a former granite quarry, Granite Links presents a dramatic, modern golfing experience south of Boston. The property, a testament to reclamation, now boasts 27 holes across three distinct nines, each carved into and around the dramatic topography left behind by decades of mining. Undulating fairways, strategically placed hazards, and sweeping views of the Boston skyline define the challenge. Though not notably long, the course favors accuracy and strategic play with its sloping lies and demanding approaches, especially on the Milton and Quarry nines. The course is a collaboration, its design initially conceived by Dr. Michael Hurdzan and Dana Fry, later refined by John Sanford. Granite Links has hosted several regional amateur events, adding to its reputation within the local golfing community. Beyond the course, Granite Links fosters an inclusive membership. Stories are shared and matches arranged, and the camaraderie among players adds to the club's unique appeal. A notable anecdote, shared amongst the membership, involves impromptu putting contests that regularly spill out onto the spacious veranda after twilight rounds, often fueled by friendly wagers and the satisfaction of a hard-fought game. The membership is also known for their high level of play, making it a challenging place to find a match with the locals.
