Pelican Waters Golf Club

Pelican Waters Golf Club occupies a residential development site north of Brisbane on Queensland's Sunshine Coast. Greg Norman designed the course in the late 1990s as part of a master-planned community, routing the layout through coastal lowlands characterized by wetlands, natural waterways, and the region's subtropical vegetation. The course opened in 1997 and serves as the centerpiece of the broader Pelican Waters estate. The design reflects Norman's preference for strategic bunkering and water hazards integrated into the natural landscape. Several holes play along or across tidal canals and wetland areas that define the property, requiring careful club selection and course management. The relatively flat terrain allows for wide fairways in places, though water comes into play on a significant portion of the routing. Native grasses and stands of melaleuca and eucalyptus frame many holes, reinforcing the coastal Queensland setting. Pelican Waters functions as a semi-private facility, accommodating both members and resort guests from the surrounding residential community. The club has hosted regional amateur events and serves as a regular venue for club competitions within the Queensland golf calendar.
