Pecan Hollow Course
Plano, TX, USA

Pecan Hollow whispers tales of Texas amateur golf, a former proving ground for rising stars just east of the Central Expressway. Carved from relatively flat North Texas terrain, this parkland-style layout, designed by Ralph Plummer in 1973, offers a deceptively challenging round. Its wide fairways belie strategically placed bunkers and subtly contoured greens that test both course management and putting prowess, with water hazards influencing play on several holes. While Pecan Hollow hasn't hosted professional majors, it has served as a popular venue for regional and state amateur championships, nurturing local talent for decades. The layout remains largely true to Plummer's original vision, though subtle enhancements over the years have enhanced playability and aesthetics. It’s a solid test but caters to every level of play, though some say it favors a player who can move the ball right to left. Pecan Hollow remains a beloved municipal course in Plano, prioritizing accessibility and community over exclusivity. It's a place where the spirit of the game thrives, where the focus is less on pedigree and more on the pure enjoyment of golf, the perfect community resource and a great place to tee it up and play.

One of the best public course experiences in the area. Course is always in good shape and there are a few challenging holes
Pecan Hollow is a gem in the DFW public golf landscape. Not impossible to get a tee time and greens are way above average for a public course. Pretty wide open. The 5 hole par 3 course is a great time to mess around with wife and kids in flip flops or with a beer.
Perhaps the best value in the metroplex. Always in solid shape and very affordable
