The routing moves through natural oak woodlands and open grassland areas, with elevation changes that provide variety in shot-making and strategic options. The design incorporates the native landscape, including mature oak trees that frame fairways and influence play on several holes. The course is generally walkable despite the terrain, which aligns with the community's emphasis on active living for its residents. Lincoln Hills Golf Club operates as a semi-private facility, with the Orchard and its companion course, the Hills, serving primarily the community's members while also welcoming outside play.
