Keith Hills Golf Course sits in Lillington, a small town in Harnett County roughly thirty miles south of Raleigh. Dan Maples designed the facility, which features multiple nine-hole layouts that can be combined into different eighteen-hole configurations. The Orange and Black nines form one such pairing, offering golfers a routing through gently rolling terrain characteristic of North Carolina's Piedmont transition zone. Maples, a prolific architect in the Carolinas during the latter decades of the twentieth century, typically worked with the natural topography and vegetation of a site rather than imposing dramatic earthwork.
