One&Only Palmilla Golf Club features two distinct nine-hole loops—Ocean and Arroyo—designed by Jack Nicklaus and opened in 1992. The property sits along the coastline near San Jose del Cabo in the Los Cabos corridor, where the desert landscape of Baja California Sur meets the Sea of Cortez. The Arroyo nine plays inland through desert arroyos and rocky terrain, while the Ocean nine runs closer to the water, offering views of the sea and incorporating the dramatic elevation changes typical of clifftop golf in this region. The Nicklaus design works with the natural topography, routing holes through canyons and along ridgelines where native vegetation and rock outcroppings frame the playing corridors. The Ocean nine includes several holes that play near the coastline, where wind and ocean views become strategic factors. The Arroyo nine moves through more sheltered terrain, with holes descending into and climbing out of dry washes that define the desert character of the site.
