Palmilla Golf Club

One&Only Palmilla Golf Club occupies a dramatic stretch of coastline in the Los Cabos corridor, where the Sierra de la Laguna foothills meet the Sea of Cortez. Jack Nicklaus designed the original 27 holes here in the early 1990s, creating one of the first signature resort courses in what would become Mexico's premier golf destination. The layout takes full advantage of the property's natural elevation changes, with holes routed across arroyos, along ridgelines, and through desert terrain studded with cardon cacti and native vegetation. The Mountain-Ocean combination represents the most varied routing available at the property, moving between the higher inland terrain and the dramatic seaside stretch. Several holes play along or toward the coastline, offering views across the water while presenting approach shots that must account for ocean breezes and the natural contours of the land. The design incorporates traditional Nicklaus elements—generous landing areas balanced by strategic bunkering, large undulating greens, and risk-reward options on par fives. The course serves guests of the One&Only Palmilla resort and outside visitors, maintaining a resort-friendly playability while preserving enough challenge for accomplished players. The setting remains relatively natural despite the surrounding development, with the routing preserving much of the desert landscape character. Conditions benefit from the region's dry climate and modern maintenance practices common to high-end Los Cabos facilities.
