Oak Hills Country Club, a fixture of Omaha's golfing landscape, bears witness to over seven decades of sporting tradition. Carved into the rolling terrain of West Omaha, the parkland layout presents a classic Midwestern golfing experience, favoring shot-shapers who can navigate its doglegs and strategically placed bunkers. While its length isn't overwhelming, the course demands a thoughtful approach, rewarding precision and strategic thinking over brute force. Designed by architect Henry Hughes, Oak Hills has been a respected, though not nationally prominent, venue for local and regional competitions. Its mature trees frame the fairways, adding to the aesthetic appeal and strategic challenge. The subtle undulations of the greens demand a keen eye and a deft touch with the putter, making for memorable rounds. Oak Hills maintains a strong sense of community. Its membership comprises a mix of generations who enjoy the course, social events, and a friendly atmosphere. While it doesn't claim any major championship history, Oak Hills offers something arguably more valuable: a steadfast commitment to the spirit of the game. The Friday night fish fry is a cherished club tradition, a testament to the enduring camaraderie found within its membership.
