Golf de Nîmes Campagne sits in the Languedoc-Roussillon region of southern France, near the historic Roman city of Nîmes. The course was designed by Morandi and Harradine, a pairing that reflects the mid-to-late twentieth-century period when European golf development often combined local knowledge with established design expertise. The Harradine family, particularly Swiss-based architects like Donald and Peter Harradine, worked extensively across continental Europe during this era, bringing strategic design principles to courses in France, Switzerland, and neighboring countries. The Languedoc landscape around Nîmes features Mediterranean climate and terrain, with rolling ground, native vegetation, and the characteristic light and warmth of southern France. Courses in this region typically incorporate the natural topography and local flora, creating layouts that blend strategic golf with the aesthetic of the Midi countryside. The setting provides views toward the surrounding garrigue and agricultural land that define this part of Provence and Languedoc. Golf de Nîmes Campagne serves the local golfing community and visitors exploring the region's Roman heritage and wine country. The club offers a base for play in an area where golf development has grown steadily since the latter decades of the twentieth century, catering to both residents and tourists drawn to the cultural and natural attractions of southern France.
