NAPERVILLE COUNTRY CLUB
🇺🇸 Naperville, IL, USA
Designed by Tom Bendelow

Naperville Country Club, steeped in Midwestern golfing heritage, stands as a testament to early 20th-century design principles. Carved into the rolling landscape of suburban Naperville, the course, while not expansive, unfolds with subtle elevation changes and mature trees lining most fairways. This creates a traditional parkland experience that rewards strategic play over raw power. A noted characteristic of the area is that this course offers a nice, quick, and affordable round.
Originally designed by Tom Bendelow, whose hand shaped the landscape of early American golf, the course has seen refinements over the years that respected the integrity of its parkland origins. While not a frequent stop on professional tours, Naperville Country Club has been a steadfast host for regional amateur events, nurturing local talent and providing a competitive proving ground.
Although not nationally celebrated or historically noted, Naperville Country Club maintains a loyal membership drawn to its classic layout and welcoming atmosphere. It offers a charming and engaging golf experience in a quiet corner of the Chicago suburbs and has been a staple of the area since its establishment. The club is known for its simple, traditional approach to the game, and the club emphasizes a family atmosphere, with social events popular among its members.
Reviews
For being in Naperville, course as a surprising amount of elevation changes. Good variety on the front nine with holes that play around the perimeter of the property with a monster of a par 5 on hole 8 (610yards) from the black tee. A few lackluster holes on the back nine including back-to-back par 5s that sit side by side and play similar. 17, the club’s signature hole is a 234 yard par 3 to a peninsula green that is an absolute score wrecker late in the round. Bounded by house on 2 sides and the metro train to the north, the club sits on a tight parcel, but it is still a great course that is extremely well maintained. A massive grass driving range is a surprisingly nice amenity.
Played in mid-October. Very quaint and groomed well. Some cool holes tucked away in the back end of the course
