Mulholland Hills Country Club Course
Tarzana, CA, USA

Western at Mulholland Hills Country Club whispers tales of old Hollywood glamour, reimagined for a modern age on the sun-drenched slopes of the San Fernando Valley. Originally Braemar Country Club, the course has long been a relaxed, yet challenging test for generations of Los Angeles golfers who enjoy a comfortable golf experience. This parkland-style layout, originally crafted in the mid-20th century, winds through rolling terrain dotted with mature oaks and sycamores. Favored by those who prefer to shape the ball right-to-left, the course features doglegs that reward strategic placement off the tee and approaches that demand accuracy over brute force. While not widely recognized on a national scale, Mulholland Hills provides a stern but fair test for its membership. The club’s history is interwoven with the fabric of the entertainment industry, with a long-standing membership that includes a vibrant mix of business executives, artists and industry professionals. Its casual atmosphere provides an authentic West Coast golf vibe in the heart of the Valley. Mulholland Hills prides itself on being a family friendly club for all walks of life.

Golfers say this recently renovated course offers a fun, family-friendly atmosphere with 27 holes that keep pace moving briskly. Most find the layout challenging, noting that accuracy off the tee is essential as out-of-bounds comes into play frequently, and reviewers highlight enjoyable elevation changes, particularly on the front nine. Some describe the design as a bit gimmicky and relatively short, though the firm conditions and demanding shot requirements test players at all skill levels. Reviewers appreciate the relaxed vibe and solid food-and-beverage options that make for an enjoyable day with friends.

Hard to beat a 27-hole day with the lads. Pace was brisk, course was firm (just finished their reno) and transfusions/hot dog combos hit the spot. Fun and relaxing family atmosphere!
Recently played after major renovation. Course was extremely challenging! Must find fairways at all times to remain in play. Front 9 definitely played harder than the back, both front and back also had fun and challenging elevation. Not for the faint of heart!
Where I learned to play golf. A little gimmicky with lots of OB and plays fairly short. But can be very enjoyable on its day
