Marysville Course
Marysville, OH, USA

Marysville Golf Club is a public facility located in Marysville, Ohio, a city situated roughly thirty miles northwest of Columbus in Union County. The course serves the local golfing community in this part of central Ohio, a region characterized by gently rolling farmland and modest elevation changes typical of the glaciated plains. Courses in this area generally feature tree-lined fairways, small creeks or drainage features, and layouts that work with the natural agricultural topography. The club offers an eighteen-hole course that provides recreational golf for residents and visitors in the Columbus metropolitan area. Like many municipal and public courses in smaller Ohio cities, Marysville Golf Club functions as an accessible option for everyday play, league competition, and casual outings. The setting reflects the rural character of Union County, with views across open land and stands of mature hardwoods that frame the holes. Marysville itself has grown considerably in recent decades due to its proximity to Columbus and the presence of automotive manufacturing, but the golf course retains a straightforward, community-oriented character. The facility typically includes practice areas and a modest clubhouse suited to the needs of a public course. For golfers traveling through central Ohio or based in the northern Columbus suburbs, Marysville represents a convenient option for a round in a quiet, unpretentious setting.

Affordable and Fun muni that I think more places could really learn from. The hole designs are not gonna blow your socks off but the greens are super fun and pure. Almost every pin location we played brought a three putt into play. Also, every green challenges you to pin hunt which can bring in some devious run off areas if you just miss your landing spot by two or three feet. If you hit to the middle of the green it can lead to some sick opportunities to funnel your ball back near the hole. My advice to anyone playing this course is do not miss above the hole or you are cooked. One fun thing about this course is the uniqueness of these holes and the risk reward opportunities. I could see why someone hates these holes or calls it gimmicky, but for a cheap muni I loved it. Marysville has some of the wildest dog legs I’ve ever seen. I think it is also a course that the more you play it and understand it the lower you can score. Last, I think that this muni spends money on the right things to keep rates affordable. While they might not have the best cart paths or amenities, they have some really pure greens and fairways. I also love that the course forces you to shape the ball both ways. While it is not a course I would want to play every day it’s forsure a course I would enjoy playing once a month or every other month. I would highly recommend people check it out. PS: shoutout them having a course dog that just runs around, he’s the man. The staff at Marysville are awesome as well.
