MALLARD POINTE GOLF COURSE
🇺🇸 Sardis, MS, USA
Designed by Bob Cupp

Mallard Pointe Golf Course sits in Sardis, Mississippi, a small town in the northern part of the state near Sardis Lake, one of the region's significant recreational reservoirs. Bob Cupp designed the course, bringing his characteristic attention to strategic variety and natural land use to this north Mississippi setting. Cupp, who worked extensively with Jack Nicklaus before establishing his own practice, became known for courses that emphasize playability across skill levels while incorporating thoughtful green complexes and risk-reward options.
The course occupies terrain typical of the north Mississippi hill country, where rolling topography and stands of hardwoods and pines frame the holes. The routing likely takes advantage of elevation changes and natural drainage patterns common to the area, creating variety in hole character and shot requirements. Cupp's design approach generally favors strategic bunkering and green contours that reward precise approach play, and courses from this period of his career often feature multiple teeing grounds to accommodate different playing abilities.
Sardis Lake and the surrounding region draw visitors for fishing, boating, and outdoor recreation, and Mallard Pointe serves both local golfers and those visiting the area. The course provides a golf option in a part of Mississippi where public and semi-private facilities are relatively sparse, offering a designed layout in a region better known for its water-based recreation than its golf courses.
