Los Lagos Course
Costa Mesa, CA, USA

Los Lagos at Costa Mesa Country Club is a testament to accessible golf, a place where Southern California players hone their skills and enjoy the camaraderie of the game. Designed in the classic mold of mid-century parkland courses, Los Lagos presents a relatively flat, walkable layout framed by mature eucalyptus and pepper trees. While not overly long, the course demands strategic positioning off the tee to navigate subtle doglegs and approach greens that often feature gentle slopes. Originally conceived by a regional architect, Los Lagos has remained largely unchanged through the decades, retaining its inherent playability. The club has intentionally avoided large-scale renovations, instead focusing on meticulous upkeep and fostering a welcoming atmosphere. The character of the course lends itself to the spirit of the place. Beyond the fairways, the club fosters a relaxed, unpretentious environment, a departure from the often-exclusive nature of golf in the area. This welcoming atmosphere makes Los Lagos a popular destination for local leagues and casual rounds, where golfers appreciate a straightforward test of golf in a friendly, down-to-earth setting.

Too slow to fully enjoy but definitely a tougher course than its partner Linda
5 hr round any day of the week. Best to be the first one out, more difficult and longer than its sister course. Longer par 3s, enjoyable for a casual weekday afternoon to see how many holes you can squeeze in.
