La Seigneurie occupies a distinctive site on the slopes of Mont Saint-Hilaire, one of the Monteregian Hills that rise from the St. Lawrence River valley east of Montreal. The course was designed by Graham Cooke and Associates and opened in 1967. The property's rolling terrain and mature hardwood forests provide natural definition to the routing, which moves through elevation changes uncommon in this part of Quebec. The design takes advantage of the hillside setting, with several holes playing uphill or downhill and offering views across the surrounding valley. The layout measures over 6,800 yards from the back tees and presents a traditional parkland test with tree-lined fairways and strategically placed bunkers. The course's position on Mont Saint-Hilaire means players encounter more dramatic topography than is typical for courses in the Montreal region, with doglegs that follow the natural land movement and approach shots that often play to elevated or partially obscured greens. La Seigneurie serves as the home course for a private membership and has hosted regional amateur competitions over the decades.
