Houston Course
Humble, TX, USA

Tour 18 in Humble, Texas, opened in 1992 as the original location in a small chain of replica golf courses designed by Dave Edsall. The concept centers on recreating famous holes from celebrated American championship courses, allowing everyday golfers to experience approximations of iconic designs without traveling to multiple destinations. The facility assembles replicas of holes from courses like Augusta National, Pebble Beach, Harbour Town, and other tournament venues, condensed into a single eighteen-hole layout on relatively flat terrain north of Houston. The course occupies former pastureland in the Humble area, and the design team worked to simulate the character of the original holes within the constraints of Southeast Texas topography and climate. Bermuda grass replaces bentgrass greens, and the naturally level ground required earthmoving to suggest the elevation changes found at mountain or coastal sites. Water features and bunkering attempt to mirror the strategic elements of the source holes, though scale and surrounding vegetation differ from the originals. The routing moves through stands of pine and hardwood, with residential development visible along portions of the property. Tour 18 attracts recreational players interested in the novelty of the replica concept and the opportunity to photograph themselves at facsimiles of famous settings. The course operates as a daily-fee facility with a casual atmosphere. While it does not replicate the conditioning or shot values of the championship originals, it offers an accessible introduction to well-known hole designs and serves as a conversation piece within Houston's broader golf market.
