Harvest Hill Course
Orchard Park, NY, USA

Harvest Hill Golf Center occupies rolling terrain in Orchard Park, a suburb south of Buffalo in western New York. Designed by Dr. Michael Hurdzan and opened in the mid-1990s, the course serves as a public facility offering year-round practice amenities alongside its eighteen-hole layout. Hurdzan, known for his agronomic expertise and environmental sensitivity, shaped the routing to work with the property's natural contours and existing vegetation, creating a course that balances playability with strategic interest for a broad range of golfers. The layout moves through a mix of open and wooded sections, with elevation changes that provide variety in shot requirements and visual character. Several holes incorporate water features, while bunkers frame landing areas and greens in Hurdzan's characteristic style—functional rather than penal, rewarding thoughtful course management. The design emphasizes turf quality and sustainable maintenance practices, reflecting Hurdzan's background in turfgrass science and his commitment to environmentally responsible golf course architecture. As a public golf center, Harvest Hill caters to both recreational players and those seeking practice facilities, including a driving range and short game areas. The course fits within the Buffalo area's golf landscape as an accessible option that demonstrates sound design principles without the exclusivity of private clubs. Its location in Orchard Park, known for hosting NFL games at nearby Highmark Stadium, places it within a community-oriented sporting context where golf serves a wide demographic across the southern suburbs.

Beautiful course in Orchard Park. Undoubtedly top 3 public course in the area. Fun layout with some very difficult holes. A lot of nice framing with fescue and bunkering.
