Glen Abbey, forever linked to the legend of Jack Nicklaus's dramatic 1986 Canadian Open victory, presents a compelling test carved from the rolling terrain of Oakville, Ontario. A product of the modern era, the course weaves through mature woodlands and utilizes Sixteen Mile Creek as a strategic hazard, demanding astute course management rather than sheer power. Designed by Jack Nicklaus himself, Glen Abbey was one of the first courses designed by the Golden Bear. It famously hosted more Canadian Opens than any other course. Most notably, the course is also known for its iconic "Valley Holes" – a sequence of holes routed through a deep ravine, creating visually stunning and strategically challenging golf. While not necessarily considered among Canada's most architecturally groundbreaking courses, Glen Abbey holds an outsized place in the nation's golfing consciousness.
