Black Mountain Golf & Country Club

Black Mountain Golf & Country Club's Founders Course sits in Henderson, Nevada, at the base of the Black Mountain range in the southeastern Las Vegas Valley. Bob E. Baldock designed the original layout in 1959, making it one of the oldest courses in the Henderson area. George B. Williams later contributed to modifications, and Garrett Gill has been involved in more recent updates to the routing and features. The course occupies relatively flat desert terrain that has matured considerably since its mid-century origins. Mature trees now line many fairways, providing definition and shade uncommon in newer desert layouts. The design reflects the traditional parkland style that Baldock favored during his career, with straightforward holes and greens that emphasize playability over severe contours or dramatic hazards. As a semi-private facility, Black Mountain serves both members and daily-fee players. The Founders Course operates alongside the club's second eighteen, the Challenge Course, giving the property substantial capacity. The club has maintained a reputation as an accessible option in the Henderson golf market, offering a contrast to the more modern desert-style courses that dominate the region. Its location near residential neighborhoods and its established tree canopy give it a different character than the open, rocky landscapes typical of newer Las Vegas-area designs.
