Flossmoor Course
Flossmoor, IL, USA

Flossmoor Golf Club, a cornerstone of Chicago’s south suburbs, whispers of a bygone era where golf was a gentleman’s game and camaraderie reigned supreme. The club’s original 18-hole layout, a product of the Golden Age, winds through classic parkland terrain dotted with mature trees and subtle elevation changes. Expect gently rolling fairways with an understated and even quaint character. Herbert Tweedie, the Scottish professional turned architect, left his mark on Flossmoor's design, a routing that favors thoughtful strategy over brute strength. While not a course often mentioned among championship venues, it has quietly hosted several Illinois State Amateur Championships, testaments to its consistent playability and understated challenge. Flossmoor, while not dominating national headlines, holds a special place in the hearts of its membership. Its appeal lies in its unpretentious atmosphere and dedication to the spirit of the game. It's a place where generations have learned to play, where business deals are struck on the back nine, and where the simple pleasure of a well-struck shot is celebrated above all else. The club remains a haven for those seeking a genuine and relaxed golfing experience. It is the place you go to play a relaxed round without all the fuss and pomp.

18 unique holes. Fast greens, cool bunkers
Flossmoor has become one of my favorite spots to play in the Chicago area. I’ve had the chance to tee it up here a handful of times, and every round just confirms how special this place is. The course is always in pristine condition — fast, pure greens, perfect fairways, and rough that still gives you a chance. The layout is so much fun. It flows naturally, has great variety, and the closing stretch from 13 to 18 is just awesome. The short par-3 13th kicks it off, but it’s hole 17 that always stands out for me — one of the toughest par-4s in the state with a demanding uphill approach shot that is tough to stop from 210 out. Beyond the course, the vibe at Flossmoor is unmatched — super laid back, friendly staff, and a classic club atmosphere that makes you feel at home. It’s the kind of place you finish your round already thinking about the next one.
A great set of greens and bunkering and a great club!
One of the best in Chicago
My former home club. Everything I love about golf. Fastest greens around, great people, and great layout. Every hole you can make birdie, every hole you can make triple. As good as it gets for the price. Can’t say enough about it
Flossmoor has a lot of rich history and is a great track. Probably some of my favorite greens that I have ever played. Amazing condition. With that being said i feel like there are only a few holes that really blow me away, but nonetheless this one of my favorite courses I have played.
Fastest greens I played all summer.
