The Faldo Course at Emirates Golf Club opened in 2006 as the club's second championship layout, designed by Nick Faldo in collaboration with Nicklaus Design. It complements the club's original Majlis Course, which hosted the Dubai Desert Classic since 1989, and shares the same distinctive desert setting in the heart of Dubai. The routing occupies land adjacent to the Majlis, presenting similar terrain characterized by imported grasses maintained against the natural desert landscape, with strategic bunkering and water features integrated throughout the design. The course measures over 7,300 yards from the championship tees and features wide fairways that encourage aggressive play while penalizing wayward shots with desert waste areas and carefully positioned hazards. Faldo's design philosophy emphasizes strategic options from the tee and approach play that rewards precision, with large, undulating greens that demand careful club selection and course management. Several holes incorporate water hazards that come into play on both tee shots and approaches, while the bunkering style reflects the desert environment with natural-edged sand areas framing the playing corridors. Emirates Golf Club operates as a semi-private facility, offering membership alongside daily visitor access, and maintains both courses to high tournament standards. The Faldo Course has hosted professional events on the European Tour's developmental circuits and serves as a venue for regional amateur competitions.
