Dye's Valley Course
Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, USA

Dye's Valley at TPC Sawgrass, though often overshadowed by its famed sister course, stands as a formidable testament to Pete Dye's strategic genius, offering a challenging yet playable experience for golfers of all skill levels. Located in Ponte Vedra Beach, a region synonymous with championship golf, Dye's Valley presents a distinctly modern layout. The course meanders through a landscape punctuated by strategic water hazards and undulating fairways. While generous off the tee, Dye's Valley demands thoughtful approaches and precise iron play. The design subtly favors those who can shape the ball, rewarding strategic positioning over sheer power. Unlike its notoriously penal neighbor, Dye's Valley provides ample opportunity for recovery, making it a favorite for local tournaments and member play. Dye's Valley has hosted numerous Web.com (now Korn Ferry) Tour Championships, providing a proving ground for aspiring PGA Tour professionals. Though it may not garner the same global attention as its sibling, it remains a respected and challenging layout within the TPC Sawgrass complex.

Golfers say this Pete Dye design offers a clever, strategic test with wider fairways than its famous sibling but plenty of bite through tricky angles, subtle greens, and water hazards that demand thoughtful play. Most praise the routing for its variety and elevation changes—unusual for Florida—with several noting they prefer the layout and find the holes more enjoyable than the neighboring Stadium course, even if conditioning occasionally trails behind. Reviewers appreciate that the design rewards thinking and never feels repetitive, though one found it merely fine. Some longtime players recall the course fondly from before recent clubhouse upgrades and premium pricing took hold.

The quieter sibling with just as much bite. Wider off the tee but full of tricky angles and subtle movement, it’s classic Pete Dye—clever, demanding, and never the same round twice. Water sneaks in everywhere, the greens roll true, and the design keeps you thinking from start to finish. It may not have the spotlight, but it’s got plenty of soul.
Liked it better than stadium, was in worse shape than stadium but the holes were more fun.
Home course - could play here every day of my life and not get sick of it. Much better playing experience than Stadium in my opinion - has more elevation than a typical course in FL.
I played here long before the new clubhouse and $900 tee times.
