The Durant Classic course at DeCordova Bend Country Club occupies rolling terrain along the shores of Lake Granbury, approximately forty miles southwest of Fort Worth. The course was designed by Leon Howard, a Texas-based architect who worked on numerous projects across the state during the latter decades of the twentieth century. The routing makes use of the property's natural elevation changes and wooded corridors, with several holes playing along or near the lake's edge. The terrain features the limestone outcroppings and native vegetation characteristic of the Texas Hill Country's eastern reaches. Mature oak and pecan trees frame many fairways, and the course incorporates water hazards both from the lake itself and from internal ponds and creeks that drain toward the reservoir. DeCordova Bend functions as a semi-private facility serving both members and outside play.
