Brian Coker designed the layout to work with the natural contours and native grasses of this alpine setting, routing holes through open meadows and along ridgelines that define the property's character. The design reflects the constraints and opportunities of mountain golf at this altitude. The land provides natural movement and elevation change, and Coker's routing takes advantage of these features without excessive earthmoving. Fairways follow the existing grades, and greens are positioned to make use of the topography. The course plays as a private amenity for the ranch and club community, which centers on a residential development that emphasizes the landscape and outdoor recreation typical of this part of Colorado. Ridgway lies between Telluride and Ouray along the San Juan Skyway, a region known for mining history and mountain scenery. The golf course fits into this context as part of a larger property that includes homesites and ranch operations.
