CordeValle at CordeValle Golf Club

CordeValle Golf Club occupies a secluded valley in the foothills east of San Martin, roughly midway between San Jose and the Monterey Peninsula. Robert Trent Jones, Jr. designed the course, which opened in 1999 as the centerpiece of a luxury resort and residential development. The property encompasses rolling terrain with mature oak trees, seasonal creeks, and views toward the Santa Cruz Mountains. Jones routed the course to take advantage of natural elevation changes, creating a layout that moves through varied topography rather than following a single valley floor.

The design features wide fairways that encourage aggressive play from the tee, though strategic bunkering and water hazards require thoughtful course management. Several holes incorporate significant elevation change, and the greens tend toward generous size with subtle internal contours. The par-three 15th plays downhill to a green fronted by water, while the closing stretch includes a risk-reward par-five 17th where length and accuracy determine whether players can reach the green in two.

CordeValle has hosted professional tournament golf, most notably serving as the venue for the Frys.com Open on the PGA Tour from 2010 through 2013. The course has also appeared on various national rankings of resort and daily-fee courses. The club operates as part of a Rosewood resort property, offering both member and resort guest access, with facilities that include lodging, dining, and a spa integrated into the broader estate setting.
