Caledon Country Club

Caledon Country Club sits in the rolling countryside northwest of Toronto near the hamlet of Inglewood, Ontario. Designed by Belgian-born architect René Muylaert and opened in the early 1970s, the course occupies terrain characteristic of the Caledon Hills—a landscape of gentle elevation changes, mature hardwood forests, and pastoral farmland that marks the transition between the Oak Ridges Moraine and the Niagara Escarpment. Muylaert, who designed several courses across Ontario during this period, routed the layout to take advantage of the property's natural contours and wooded corridors. The course plays through a mix of open and tree-lined holes, with fairways that move across moderate slopes and greens that reflect the strategic design principles common to Canadian parkland courses of the era. Water features come into play on several holes, and the routing provides variety in both length and shot requirements. The club operates as a private facility serving members from the Greater Toronto Area, maintaining a traditional country club atmosphere with full amenities including dining and social programming. Caledon Country Club remains a regional fixture in Ontario golf, offering a well-maintained parkland experience in a setting that preserves much of the area's rural character despite the gradual expansion of suburban development in the surrounding Peel Region.
