Black Rock Course
Hingham, MA, USA

Black Rock Country Club occupies a coastal site in Hingham, Massachusetts, approximately twenty miles south of Boston on the South Shore. The course was designed by Brian Silva, a New England-based architect known for his work restoring and creating classic-style layouts throughout the region. Silva's design at Black Rock takes advantage of the property's natural topography and proximity to Hingham Harbor, incorporating views of the water and working with the existing landforms rather than imposing dramatic earthmoving. The routing moves across rolling terrain with a mix of open and wooded corridors. Several holes play along or toward the harbor, providing both scenic interest and strategic considerations when wind comes off the water. Silva's design philosophy typically emphasizes strategic options for players of different skill levels, with multiple routes to greens and hazards positioned to reward thoughtful play rather than simply penalize mistakes. The bunkering style and green contours reflect traditional New England golf architecture, with an emphasis on ground game options and firm, fast conditions when maintenance practices allow. Black Rock serves as a private club for members in the Hingham and greater South Shore community. The club provides a year-round social and recreational hub typical of established New England country clubs, with dining facilities and family programming complementing the golf course. The setting combines the maritime character of coastal Massachusetts with the wooded, rolling landscape common to the region's golf properties.

Solid newer New England country club with all the fixings. One of the best putting and chipping greens around. Fun track with a lot to offer, blind shots, solid green complex’s, drivable par 4 13th, and a bunch of elevation changes. Built within the old Hingham quarry offering up a lot cool rock formations.
