Bent Tree Course
Sunbury, OH, USA

Bent Tree Golf Club sits in Sunbury, a small community northeast of Columbus in central Ohio. The course was designed by Denis Griffiths, a regional architect active in Ohio and the Midwest during the latter decades of the twentieth century. Griffiths worked on numerous courses throughout the region, typically creating layouts that work with existing land forms rather than imposing dramatic earthmoving. The property occupies rolling terrain characteristic of central Ohio, with mature tree corridors framing fairways and elevation changes that add variety to the routing. The design reflects a straightforward approach common to courses built for daily-fee or semi-private play during its era, emphasizing playability across different skill levels while incorporating enough strategic interest to reward thoughtful course management. Water features and bunkers provide definition and challenge on several holes. Bent Tree serves golfers in the northern Columbus suburbs and Delaware County area. The club operates as a public facility, making it accessible to residents and visitors seeking a round in a setting that balances challenge with the natural landscape of the region. The course fits within the tradition of Ohio golf layouts that prioritize conditioning and a welcoming atmosphere for regular play rather than tournament pedigree or national rankings.

Fine golf course. I’d say it has 6 great holes, 6 average holes and 6 bad holes. Biggest knock on it is they overbook tee times leading to a lot of backup. Even with it being overbooked the greens and fairways are always in good shape
