Batteaux Creek Golf Club sits in the rural countryside near Nottawa, Ontario, a small community in Simcoe County north of Toronto. Designed by Canadian architect Stephen Young, the course occupies rolling farmland characteristic of this part of southern Ontario, where the terrain transitions from the flatter lands near Georgian Bay to more varied topography inland. The routing takes advantage of natural elevation changes and wooded corridors that define individual holes. Young's design work in Ontario typically emphasizes strategic variety and playability across different skill levels, incorporating natural features into the layout rather than imposing dramatic artificial shaping. At Batteaux Creek, the course winds through a mix of open and tree-lined holes, with Batteaux Creek itself likely influencing several holes along the property. The layout presents a range of approach shot requirements and green complexes that reward course management. The club operates as a semi-private facility serving the Collingwood and Blue Mountain region, an area known for seasonal tourism and recreational activity. Batteaux Creek provides a golf option in a market dominated by resort courses closer to Georgian Bay, offering a more traditional member-guest experience. The course appeals to both local players and visitors exploring golf options in Simcoe County's agricultural landscape.
