BANDON DUNES GOLF CLUB
🇺🇸 Bandon, OR, USA
Designed by David McLay Kidd
Bandon Dunes, the flagship course at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort, represents a singular vision of pure links golf brought to the rugged Oregon Coast. Inspired by the classic links courses of Scotland and Ireland, it occupies dramatic coastal bluffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Wide fairways encourage aggressive play, while strategically placed bunkers and ever-present wind penalize errant shots. The course is a walking-only experience, emphasizing the connection between golfer and terrain.
Architect David McLay Kidd shaped the raw landscape into a course that feels both timeless and modern. Subsequent architects at the resort have drawn inspiration from Bandon Dunes, solidifying its place as the template for the resort's distinctive design aesthetic. The course prioritizes natural contours and native vegetation, ensuring a challenging but fair test for golfers of all skill levels. Blind shots and undulating greens demand creativity and strategic thinking.
While not a regular stop on major professional tours, Bandon Dunes holds a revered place among golf purists. Its challenging layout and stunning scenery have earned it global recognition as a premier destination for those seeking an authentic links experience. Stories abound of golfers braving the elements, forging unforgettable memories against the backdrop of the Oregon Coast.
The resort is known to have a community feel amongst those that visit, with many repeat customers annually, and those who celebrate traditions with friends. The resort prioritizes communal dining and post-round camaraderie, fostering a welcoming atmosphere that extends beyond the course itself.

Rain blowing sideways A must play
Cool routing that has 3 ocean passes, original course on the property that has some memorable holes, don’t forget to play the Keiser tee on 17 in addition to the regular tee (use score as a tiebreaker)
Hard not to pick as the favorite with my best score there…the shot value is there, the views are there, the fun is there. At combination of everything you want in a golf course makes it really rise to the top
As a whole, the resort exceeds lofty expectations and is just a magical place for anyone who loves golf. I literally feel a dull pain in my heart when I leave. For the OG course, it’s my favorite. As much as I like the other courses, I always come back to Bandon Dunes as my favorite. So many memorable and enjoyable holes. And an excellent match play course.
Nothing beats 16 at Bandon Dunes at sunset. Played twice while out there and it lives up to the hype. Greens were in good shape when we were there. Wind was howling one day and laid flatter the next round. Go if you get the opportunity…if asked, say yes and figure out logistics later.
Very fun but I played it in competition and the morning wave was way easier than afternoon wave. Felt unfair. Great for guys trip bad for competition.
Amazing Bandon what a place. BD comes in at number 2 or 3 in my Bandon rankings depending on the day. World class, the ocean holes are as good as the finest in the world maybe falls off a bit inland but as good a golf course as you’ll likely ever play. Practice your bump and run and wind cheater shots
Amazing golf course overshadowed by Pac Dunes. Seaside holes are spectacular with fair amount of mix of risk / reward. Greens are weaker than Pac / Old Mac. A few forgettable holes - but mostly a wonderful walk and a must play for anyone making the trek to Bandon.
Big ballpark - hard to miss fairways. Fun greens !
Pacific was getting a lot of love for a long time, but it’s maybe too hard (esp when the wind is up), imo. The OG is great and 16, for all the praise it gets, is really a terrific golf hole as your round comes to a close.
