Tom Dunn

Tom Dunn was a pioneering golf course architect whose work spanned Britain and Continental Europe during the formative years of course design. His portfolio includes several historically significant layouts that helped establish golf beyond Scotland's traditional heartlands.

In England, Dunn designed courses across the southern counties and greater London area, including Woking, Sheringham, The Royal Blackheath, and Richmond. His work extended to multiple Surrey and Essex venues such as Surbiton, Chelmsford, Wanstead, and Woodford, alongside Meyrick Park in Dorset. These designs contributed to the expansion of golf throughout England during the sport's rapid growth period.

Dunn also worked internationally, with notable designs in France including Dinard in Bretagne and Biarritz-Le Phare in Aquitaine. His cross-Channel commissions reflect the broader spread of golf architecture during an era when British designers were instrumental in establishing the game across Europe.
