Neil Haworth is a golf course architect who has concentrated his practice primarily across Asia and the Pacific Rim, with notable projects spanning China, Southeast Asia, and beyond. Working both independently and in partnership with Robin Nelson as Nelson & Haworth, he has designed courses across diverse terrain—from tropical island settings to mountainous inland sites.
Among his most recognized works is Sheshan International Golf Club near Shanghai, co-designed with Nelson. The layout has hosted the WGC-HSBC Champions repeatedly and is often named among China's finest courses. Other significant designs include Jade Dragon Snow Mountain in Yunnan, Bali National in Indonesia, and the public Kau Sai Chau East Course in Hong Kong. His portfolio extends through multiple provinces in China—including facilities at Xili Golf and Country Club in Shenzhen, Sun Island in Shanghai, and Changshu Golf Club—as well as projects in South Korea (Gunsan Country Club), Malaysia (Sabah Golf and Country Club, Shan-Shui), the Philippines (Lakewood), Vietnam (Long Bien), and Singapore (Warren Golf & Country Club).
Haworth's body of work reflects the rapid expansion of golf across Asia during recent decades, with designs that adapt to varied climates and topographies throughout the region.
