5 courses on Course Vaults
John Harbottle developed a portfolio of golf courses primarily across the western United States during the late 20th and early 21st centuries. His work spans diverse terrain and climates, from the high desert of Nevada to the mountain settings of Idaho and Utah.
Among his notable designs are Hawks Landing Golf Club in Verona, Wisconsin, and BanBury Golf Club in Eagle, Idaho. In Nevada, Harbottle created The Ranch course at Genoa Lakes Golf Club & Resort and The Challenge at Arrow Creek Golf Club near Reno. His design at Sunbrook Golf Club in St. George, Utah—the Blackrock/The Pointe course—demonstrates his ability to work with dramatic desert topography.
Harbottle's courses reflect regional characteristics while maintaining playability across different skill levels, contributing to the growth of golf in markets throughout the Mountain West and Upper Midwest.
