YORBA LINDA COUNTRY CLUB
🇺🇸 Yorba Linda, CA, USA
Designed by David Rainville, Harry Rainville

Yorba Linda Country Club is the kind of place where generations of Orange County families learned the game, cementing its status as a community hub as much as a championship test. Carved into the rolling hills north of town, the course presents a classic early 1960s parkland layout. This is Southern California golf, defined by tree-lined fairways, strategic bunkering and subtly contoured greens. The layout plays longer than the scorecard suggests, demanding thoughtful approaches rather than brute force.
Designed by William F. Bell, the course bears his hallmarks: generous fairways that reward strategic placement and undulating greens. The emphasis is on shot-making and course management, reflecting Bell's philosophy of accessible yet challenging golf. While the club has never hosted a major professional event, it remains a coveted venue for regional amateur competitions and a proving ground for local talent.
The club's unpretentious character is a key part of its appeal. There’s a sense of camaraderie amongst the membership. Yorba Linda Country Club is the kind of place where the handshake still matters, and where the stories swapped in the clubhouse after a round are as cherished as the birdies made on the course. Even the dress code remains classic, but friendly.
Known for its warm, family-friendly atmosphere, Yorba Linda Country Club offers a comfortable retreat from the bustle of the surrounding urban sprawl. While it may not command national attention, its enduring legacy is etched into the lives of its members.
Reviews
Almost an old school feel. Beloved by its members. Some very good challenging golf holes and surprisingly long. Underrated in my opinion.
