Born from a vision to reimagine seaside golf in the Arabian Gulf, Yas Links presents a compelling counterpoint to the region’s more manicured offerings. Kyle Phillips, celebrated for his work at Kingsbarns, sculpted this links-style layout to evoke the spirit of the Scottish coast amidst the desert landscape of Yas Island in Abu Dhabi. He used the rolling terrain to create dramatic contrasts between the fairways and the calm blue of the Arabian Gulf.

True to its links inspiration, Yas Links favors strategic play and creative shot-making over brute power. With undulating fairways, deep bunkers edged with wispy native grasses, and coastal winds whipping off the turquoise waters, golfers must carefully consider club selection and trajectory to navigate its challenging layout. The prevailing winds offer a distinct challenge, often rewarding a measured fade. Don't be afraid to play it low, or play it high, but you must play smart to play well.

While still relatively young, Yas Links has quickly established itself as a respected venue, hosting regional amateur events and attracting a discerning international clientele. But what Yas Links has is a membership that is comprised of a wide range of nationalities making it feel like a 'melting pot' - where English may be the common tongue, but Arabic is spoken amongst many groups.
