WOODLAND HILLS COUNTRY CLUB
🇺🇸 Woodland Hills, CA, USA
Designed by Geoff Shackelford, William Park Bell Sr.

Woodland Hills Country Club remains a Los Angeles mainstay, its verdant fairways a counterpoint to the surrounding urban sprawl. Carved into the rolling foothills of the San Fernando Valley, the parkland layout presents an engaging, if understated, challenge. Bunkering is strategic, and while the course isn't overly long, subtly contoured greens and tight doglegs reward thoughtful course management over brute power.
Originally designed by William “Billy” Bell in 1925, the course reflects a classic Golden Age sensibility, emphasizing natural landforms and strategic shot values. While it hasn't hosted major championships, its consistent playability and welcoming atmosphere have fostered a devoted membership drawn from the entertainment industry and the surrounding community.
The club, nestled in the heart of Woodland Hills, offers a respite from the bustling city. Its relaxed, unpretentious atmosphere is a stark contrast to some of its more high-profile counterparts in the region. And though it may not command national headlines, Woodland Hills Country Club provides a cherished golfing experience for its members and their guests and for it's dedicated family of staff and instructors.
Reviews
2nd or 3rd tier LA country club and that’s not an insult there are just some great LA Private tracks and this is a good one. Little funky cramped for space in spots so some narrow chutes to hit into. Good greens fringe was inconsistent and made up of different kinds of grass. Made chipping an adventure. Fun course and great clubhouse patio overlooking Woodland Hills.
Fast greens. Short course. Missing a fairway means you are in another fairway (or two) over. Lots and lots of tree trouble. Again , missing a fairway you are now going for double bogey.
