WILSON ROAD GOLF COURSE
🇺🇸 Columbus, OH, USA
Designed by Jack Kidwell
Wilson Road Golf Course, carved into the fabric of west Columbus, embodies accessible golf with a democratic spirit. Its relatively flat terrain is typical of the broader Ohio landscape.
Designed as a local course, it doesn’t boast architectural pedigree, nor does it claim national recognition. The course, though straightforward, presents subtle challenges for players of all abilities. The routing features a mix of short and medium-length holes, rewarding strategic placement over sheer power, even as the terrain favors neither fade nor draw, playing relatively straight.
Wilson Road is more a community hub than a golfing monument. This is pure, unpretentious golf, catering to a dedicated local following with a friendly clubhouse atmosphere.
Reviews
Say what you will about the length, course design, and it only being 9 holes but Wilson’s road will give you a fun day of golf. In my opinion we need more short courses in golf. It will cost you $14 to walk the 9 holes and you will hit all but maybe two clubs in your bag. I think courses like this are a great way to introduce new golfers to the sport in a non intimidating way. It is also a fun way for experienced golfers to practice their mid irons and short game. When the greens are in good shape they are lowkey diabolical. This course won’t knock your socks off but I encourage everyone to support their local short courses in the area because they are a staple in the golf community.
