WILLAMETTE VALLEY COUNTRY CLUB
🇺🇸 Canby, OR, USA
Designed by Bill Robinson, Craig Schreiner, Shirley Stone

Willamette Valley Country Club sits in Canby, Oregon, approximately twenty miles south of Portland in the fertile agricultural region that gives the course its name. The club dates to the mid-twentieth century and has seen design contributions from multiple architects over its history. Shirley Stone, one of the Northwest's notable course designers, worked on the layout, as did Bill Robinson and Craig Schreiner, who brought their own perspectives to the routing and features over subsequent decades.
The course occupies relatively flat terrain characteristic of the Willamette Valley floor, with the Molalla River corridor influencing parts of the property. Trees—many mature—frame fairways and define playing corridors, while water features appear on several holes. The layout requires accuracy more than length, rewarding players who manage position off the tee and navigate the tree-lined approaches to greens. The setting reflects the pastoral character of the surrounding farmland, with views extending across open fields when the routing breaks from wooded sections.
Willamette Valley Country Club serves as a private facility for members in the Canby area and southern Portland suburbs. The club maintains a traditional country club structure with golf as the central amenity, complemented by dining and social functions. It represents a regional option for golfers seeking a tree-lined parkland experience in the northern Willamette Valley, distinct from the more dramatic terrain found in courses closer to the Cascade foothills or Oregon coast.
Reviews
Little bit under the radar club in Portland area. Nice course can be a little soggy in low lying areas. Has some railroad tie bulkheads and some housing give it a bit of a 90’d vibe. Good ground movement good par 3 variety. Good course look forward to playing again
