THE GOLF CLUB AT DOVE MOUNTAIN
🇺🇸 Marana, AZ, USA
Designed by Jack Nicklaus

The Golf Club at Dove Mountain sits in the Tortolita Mountains northwest of Tucson, where Jack Nicklaus designed 27 holes that opened in 2009. The facility features three nine-hole loops—Wild Burro, Saguaro, and Tortolita—that can be combined into different 18-hole configurations. The Wild Burro and Saguaro nines form one of the primary pairings at this high-desert venue, which occupies dramatic terrain at elevations ranging from roughly 2,400 to 2,800 feet.
Nicklaus routed the holes through natural Sonoran Desert landscape characterized by significant elevation change, rocky outcroppings, and native vegetation including saguaro cacti, palo verde, and ocotillo. The design emphasizes strategic options from elevated tees, with fairways that move through arroyos and around desert washes. Greens are typically large and contoured, and the bunkering reflects the rugged character of the site. Visibility and shot values change considerably with the terrain, and several holes play across or along natural drainage corridors.
Dove Mountain gained prominence as the host of the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship from 2009 to 2014, bringing PGA Tour professionals to the property annually during that stretch. The event showcased the course's challenge at altitude and its exposure to variable desert weather conditions. The club operates as a private facility and serves as the centerpiece of a residential community in the Marana area, offering members access to all 27 holes along with practice facilities and a clubhouse positioned to take advantage of views across the surrounding mountains and valleys.
