Widgi Creek at Widgi Creek Golf Club

Widgi Creek Golf Club sits in the high desert landscape of Central Oregon, just north of Bend. Designed by Robert Muir Graves and opened in 1991, the course occupies rolling terrain characterized by native juniper, sagebrush, and ponderosa pine. The routing takes advantage of the area's natural elevation changes and volcanic soil, with fairways that move through corridors of high desert vegetation and occasional lava rock outcroppings typical of the region.

Graves, a prolific California-based architect who designed courses throughout the western United States, created a layout that balances playability with strategic interest. The course measures over 6,900 yards from the back tees and features generous landing areas off the tee, though approach shots demand precision to greens that are often elevated or contoured. Water comes into play on several holes, including ponds and the Deschutes River, which borders portions of the property and adds both scenic and strategic elements to the round.

The setting provides views of the Cascade Range to the west, with Mount Bachelor and the Three Sisters visible on clear days. Widgi Creek operates as a semi-private facility, offering both member and public play.
