EISENHOWER PARK GOLF CLUB
🇺🇸 East Meadow, NY, USA
Designed by Robert Trent Jones
The White Course at Eisenhower Park Golf Club occupies part of a 930-acre public park complex in East Meadow, on Long Island's Nassau County. Robert Trent Jones designed this layout as part of a three-course facility developed in the late 1940s and early 1950s, when the property transitioned from the former Salisbury Park estate to a municipal recreation destination. The course reflects Jones's early public-course work, emphasizing strategic design principles within the constraints of relatively flat Long Island terrain.
The routing makes use of the property's modest elevation changes and incorporates water hazards and bunkering to create definition and challenge. Jones's characteristic approach—large greens with pronounced contours, strategic fairway bunkering, and an emphasis on aerial shot-making—appears throughout the design. The course serves a high volume of play as part of the Nassau County park system, which also includes the Red and Blue courses at the same facility.
Eisenhower Park takes its name from President Dwight D. Eisenhower, and the complex has hosted numerous regional amateur competitions over the decades. The White Course, along with its companion layouts, provides accessible public golf in a densely populated suburban area, maintaining Jones's design intent while accommodating the demands of municipal operation. The facility includes a clubhouse and practice areas that serve the three courses collectively.
