WHISKEY CREEK GOLF CLUB
🇺🇸 Ijamsville, MD, USA
Designed by Brian Costello, Ernie Els, Mike Poellot

Whiskey Creek, carved from the rolling Maryland farmland near Ijamsville, whispers a tale of modern course architecture designed to both challenge and charm. Its links-inspired layout, absent the seaside elements, plays with elevation changes and strategically placed bunkers to defend par. Errant drives will find thick fescue, though generous fairways generally reward bold play, favoring those who can work the ball left to right around strategically placed doglegs.
Architect J. Michael Poellot conceived Whiskey Creek. While not hosting national championships, the course serves as a beloved proving ground for regional amateurs and a regular stop for local qualifiers.
Whiskey Creek holds a respected, albeit understated, position in the Maryland golf landscape. Its appeal lies in the challenging yet fair design and the camaraderie fostered amongst its members, who are known to playfully dispute over the "official" course record.
The club's relaxed atmosphere, coupled with a challenging layout and scenic location, has carved out a strong following. While lacking the grandeur of some nationally recognized courses, Whiskey Creek offers an unpretentious and enjoyable golfing experience rooted in its Maryland setting.
