WEST ORANGE COUNTRY CLUB
🇺🇸 Winter Garden, FL, USA
Designed by Lloyd Clifton

West Orange Country Club, a quietly respected fixture in Winter Garden, Florida, whispers tales of old Florida golf, a simpler game played on more forgiving terrain. A step back in time, it presents a contrasting experience from the modern, heavily-contoured courses that dominate the landscape.
Built in the mid-1960s, the course, designed by a less celebrated architect, favors a straightforward, parkland style. Gentle undulations and mature oak trees lining the fairways define its character. While not overly long, its tighter corridors reward accuracy more than raw power. Strategic bunkering comes into play, requiring thoughtful club selection and careful approach shots, especially on the dogleg lefts that are such a common and enjoyable feature.
West Orange is a club deeply rooted in its local community. The atmosphere is welcoming and unpretentious. Known for its relaxed pace of play and post-round camaraderie, it's a place where members genuinely know each other and golf is enjoyed for its own sake. The club’s uncomplicated nature also extends to its famed casual dining experience. From casual clubhouse dining to poolside snacks, members enjoy a relaxed atmosphere without pretense.
Reviews
Played before Sam’s bachelor trip in August 2025. Holes 6-9 was probably my favorite stretch, and 18 was a tough finishing hole. Didn’t play great, but always a great time getting out with the boys. Great practice area and hospitality.
