WALNUT CREEK COUNTRY CLUB
🇺🇸 South Lyon, MI, USA
Designed by Arthur Hills, Paul Albanese

West at Walnut Creek Country Club, a verdant haven nestled in the rolling landscape west of South Lyon, Michigan, offers a challenging test shaped by the area's glacial history. Carved from former farmland, the course, while not nationally prominent, presents a parkland style characterized by mature trees lining generous fairways and strategically placed bunkers guarding undulating greens.
Designed by architect William Newcomb, the West course rewards strategic play and precise approaches. While it's no monster off the tee, subtle doglegs and gently sloping fairways favor those who can work the ball. Greens are often multi-tiered, demanding careful club selection and a deft touch with the putter. The course is known locally as a great place to play for women, beginners and seniors as it provides a fair test for the average golfer.
Walnut Creek is well known in the area for its member base from the local area. In fact, one family for example has been members for over 50 years, starting with the parents then trickling down the family ranks to their children and their children’s children.
